Hi Dawn, Itn't it wonderful how such a small thing as a painting can bring back wonderful memories. The mockingbird is our official bird of Texas. They are amazing singers! Thank you so much for your lovely comment.

Lovely! The joy you express here reminds me of the first time I encountered a mockingbird, when I left Wyoming for college in Nebraska. Walking across campus on a snowy day (I started winter semester), I was puzzled to hear a flicker, a catbird, and a robin singing from the same thicket of evergreens. It took me a few moments to realize that all the voices were coming from one throat! What a poetic and delightful painting that brings back such magical moments!

Absolutely a gorgeous piece of artwork, Suzanne! I love the colors and the soft background, but most of all, I love how you did the bird, as the focal point of this piece! Very beautiful!

Suzanne~This is really beautifully done, with a combination of realism and impressionism, there is such a shine to this. I love birds and this is a vote & fave.
